We keep things simple. This site exists to tell you about our services and let you get in touch. Here's exactly what happens with your data when you use our website.
What We Collect
We collect information in two ways:
- Information you provide: Name, email address, phone number, town, and enquiry details submitted through the contact form. All fields apart from name are optional.
- Information collected automatically: When you visit our site, third-party services we use (listed below) may collect anonymous data about your visit, such as pages viewed, time on site, device type, and approximate location. This data is used to measure advertising effectiveness and improve our website.
We do not create user accounts.
How We Use This Information
Any information submitted through the contact form is used solely to respond to the enquiry. Roger Brittain receives each message by email and will reply directly. We will not add anyone to a mailing list or share details with third parties.
Automatically collected data is used to understand how visitors find and use our website, and to measure the effectiveness of our advertising.
Contact Form
The contact form is handled by Lumara Forms, a form service run by our web developer, Lumara Digital. When you send the form, your details are stored in Lumara Forms' database (hosted on Cloudflare) and emailed to Roger. You also get a confirmation email. These emails are sent through Resend, an email delivery service, and Roger gets a short notification on his phone through Pushover.
If you fill in the contact form and then tap Send as WhatsApp instead of submitting it, the details you have typed (name, email, phone, town and enquiry) are also sent to Lumara Forms so we have a record of your enquiry, before WhatsApp opens. Anything you send over WhatsApp itself is handled under WhatsApp's own privacy policy.
Click Tracking
When a visitor taps the phone or WhatsApp buttons on our site, our analytics record which page it happened on and which button was tapped. No name, phone number or other personal details are included. This helps us understand which pages lead to enquiries.
Third-Party Services
Google Ads & Google Tag (gtag.js)
We use Google Ads to advertise our services and Google's global site tag (gtag.js) to measure advertising performance. When you visit our site, Google may collect anonymous data including pages visited, time on site, and device information. If you arrived via a Google ad, conversion tracking records that the ad led to a visit or enquiry — this helps us understand which ads are working. Google may set cookies for this purpose. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ad Settings.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to see how visitors use the site, such as which pages are viewed and how people arrive. It is loaded through Cloudflare and may set cookies. See Google's Privacy Policy.
Plausible and Lumara Analytics
We also use two cookie-free analytics tools, Plausible (self-hosted) and Lumara Analytics, to count visits and see which pages lead to enquiries. They do not set cookies or store your IP address.
Microsoft Clarity
We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors interact with our website. Clarity records anonymous session data such as mouse movements, clicks, and scrolling behaviour. It does not capture personal information, form input, or passwords. Clarity may set cookies to distinguish unique visitors. You can learn more in Microsoft's Privacy Statement.
Cloudflare
This site is served through Cloudflare's network for performance and security. Cloudflare may process standard server logs (IP addresses, page requests) and set technical security cookies in accordance with their own privacy policy.
Cookies
This website uses cookies set by the following third-party services:
- Google Analytics: Used to understand how visitors use the site.
- Google Ads (gtag.js): Used to measure advertising effectiveness and track conversions. These cookies help us understand which ads lead to enquiries.
- Microsoft Clarity: Used to record anonymous browsing behaviour to help us improve the site experience.
- Cloudflare: May set a technical security cookie to protect the site from malicious traffic.
We do not set any first-party cookies ourselves. You can manage or block cookies through your browser settings. Blocking cookies will not affect your ability to browse the site or submit an enquiry.
Data Retention
Contact form and WhatsApp enquiry details are kept in Lumara Forms for 12 months and are then deleted automatically. The emails Roger receives are kept for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and any work that follows. If you would like your details deleted sooner, just ask and we will remove them. We do not use website enquiries for marketing. Data collected by Google and Microsoft is retained in accordance with their respective privacy policies.
Rights Under GDPR
Under UK data protection law, individuals have the right to:
- Ask what personal data we hold
- Request correction of any inaccurate data
- Request deletion of personal data
- Object to how data is processed
In practice, we hold very little data: just the details from enquiries you send us. If you want a copy or want it deleted, just ask.
